NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah lead ' Tiranga Yatra ' in Ahmedabad on Sunday, organised to honour the Indian Armed Forces after Operation Sindoor 's success.
"The brave soldiers of the nation, through their valour, have made Operation Sindoor synonymous with the eradication of terrorism. Live from the Tiranga Yatra organised in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha to honour the soldiers for the historic success of this operation," he said in a post on X.
The BJP announced the 'Tiranga Yatra' starting May 13 to 23 to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor which was launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. During the operation, forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, killing nearly 100 terrorists, as claimed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The initiative is being coordinated by senior leaders including Sambit Patra, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh. Prominent Union ministers, chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, and top party leaders are expected to lead the processions across various regions of the country. As part of the campaign, the BJP is engaging with citizens nationwide to highlight the importance of the operation and its role in strengthening the country's security and sovereignty.
