Television actress Shivani Gosain, who is currently seen in Rishton Se Badi Gauri, will be spending her birthday this year on set — and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “I feel working birthdays are the best,” she shares, reflecting on the significance of the day and how her celebration style is rooted more in simplicity and gratitude than in grand parties.
“I’m not someone who celebrates much or throws big parties,” Shivani says. “For me, it’s all about spending quality time with my loved ones — my parents, my daughter, my sisters, and my sister’s two little girls. I celebrate for them and with them.”
Having been part of notable shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay (as Varsha Bhabhi), Rang Badalti Odhani, Love You Zindagi, Saraswatichandra, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Naagin 5, Pratigya 2, and making memorable cameos in popular series like Anupamaa and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Shivani has carved out a space for herself as a reliable, versatile actor in the television industry.
Recalling her most memorable birthday, Shivani gets emotional. “Two years back, I went to Kedarnath especially for my birthday. I was at the shrine on the 21st, and that has been my best and most blessed birthday till today.”
However, this year marks a poignant shift in her life — it will be her first birthday without her beloved mother. “Every year, my birthday started with my mother’s call or message, or she used to be with me. I lost her nine months back, and this year I will miss her the most,” Shivani says with a heavy heart. “Without my mother, my birthday is incomplete and now always will be.”
Despite the deep loss, Shivani finds solace in continuing to work and carry her mother’s blessings forward. “I’ve celebrated my birthday on set a few times in the past, and I truly feel working birthdays are the best. This year is going to be one more blessed birthday — I’ll be on set again.”
As she steps into another year, her wish remains beautifully simple and heartfelt: “I just want to be blessed with a stress-free, healthy, peaceful, and satisfying working life — till my last breath. My mother’s blessings and her gifts will always be the most treasured part of my birthday.”
