On July 28, 2025, the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS), under the EPFO and Ministry of Labour & Employment, conducted the 20th edition of its flagship thought leadership series, Re-imagining Governance: Discourse for Excellence (RGDE). Organized in hybrid mode, the session saw enthusiastic participation from across the country.
Renowned actor and theatre personality Shri Adil Hussain delivered a captivating keynote address titled “Speaking to be Understood: From Informing to Connecting.” Drawing from his diverse experiences in Indian and global cinema, theatre, and spiritual texts, Shri Hussain offered a reflective perspective on communication as a powerful tool for connection.
He underscored that authentic communication stems from emotional awareness and clarity of intent. “Everyone has a backstory,” he reminded the audience, urging public officials to engage with empathy and see the human behind each interaction. He also reflected on the role of gratitude and attentiveness in strengthening the social contract between citizens and the state.
The session was chaired by Shri Ramesh Krishnamurthi, Central Provident Fund Commissioner, and presided over by Shri Kumar Rohit, Director of PDUNASS. Shri Uttam Prakash and Smt. Udita Choudhary moderated the event, skillfully guiding the discussions and interactive Q&A.
Launched on Good Governance Day, December 25, 2023, the RGDE series has emerged as a vibrant platform fostering innovation and excellence in public service, connecting voices from governance, arts, academia, and civil society for transformative dialogue.
