Prince Louis' cheeky snub to dad Prince William on first day of school

may be the youngest child of and , however there is no doubt he can sometimes be the most confident. While he is often seen amusing crowds at royal events by either dancing, pulling funny faces or being generally mischievous, he can also appear to be really grown up too on some occasions.

One of these times was in 2022 when he was in Berkshire, along with his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte. On their first day, which came just weeks after the family moved from London to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, the children were walking to the school doors with both parents William, 42, and Kate, 43, in front of the awaiting UK press.

It was here that the young royal, who marked his seventh birthday earlier this week, appeared to snub his father.

While he is often seen wanting to hold Prince William's hand, this was not the case on his first day of school as he instead decided to ignore his father's hand and instead just hold onto Princess Kate's.

After having his hand rejected, Prince William ruffled the youngster's hair instead as they approached the school headmaster Jonathan Perry.

The children appeared happy to be starting at the new school, with Prince George and Prince Louis sporting matching uniforms, while Charlotte wore a blue checked school dress.

Prince William and Princess Kate, who were by their three children's side, also seemed happy and relaxed as they introduced their children to the headmaster, with Kate wearing a beautiful brown spotty dress.

, royal expert Ingrid Seward once said: "According to the other mums at Lambrook she (Kate) turns up for sports days, she turns up for special matches, and she's a very hands-on mum.

"Sometimes she goes with her mother Carole. And obviously William goes when he can. They often go altogether. Obviously the other mums are all googley-eyed to see [her]."
