I'm A Celebrity star James Haskell brutally poked fun at wife ahead of the pair's "expensive" divorce - and implied he'd rather have married podcast co-star Mike Tindall's wife . She is the niece of King Charles, whereas personal trainer and fitness expert Chloe, whose dad is a regular on , has no royal connections.

He joked of Mike: "He went to Australia in 2023 and came back with a World Cup winners' medal and a princess. I married Richard and Judy's daughter - it's a bit like Lambrini and day release, it's not the same thing!"

James also gave a scathing insight into why his marriage may have broken down, during a candid chat at Pub in the Park about his passion for pints. He and Chloe announced their split in 2023 after five years of marriage, with their daughter Bodhi being just one at the time. "If I'd put as much effort into my marriage as I did Guinness, I wouldn't be divorced now," he quipped.

Earlier that day, he took aim at Chloe once again while making a joke about his lack of sex since separating from her.

He revealed that he was having surgery on his wrist the following week after incurring damage to it.

However, he declared: "It's not because I'm getting divorced - that's a completely different thing!"

It had looked as if the conversation was about to get even more candid, but James held back when he spotted children in the audience.

Explaining the real reason he needs surgery, he confessed that years of playing professional rugby had left him with a "wrecked body".

Other health woes included having "no cartilage left" in his ankle - and James praised himself for having a career "back-up plan" for the day when he quit rugby.

"You're only one injury away from retirement at any one time," he warned, branding players who don't plan for their future "backward".

On the other hand, James insisted he'd "never wanted to be a rugby player" in the first place and that "performing" is now what "motivates" him.

He's launched a fitness app, joking that following the techniques in it have raised him from a "5.5 to a solid 5.8 out of ten".

He also urged people not to turn to quick fixes like Ozempic, warning that he believes it can "raise your cancer risk".

Besides fitness, James has also found a passion for DJing, and he has a podcast with Mike Tindall which recently saw him travel to Windsor Castle.

His main concern now is getting "cancelled" for his frank comments about Chloe, groaning: "I can't afford [that]. I'm getting divorced and I need the cash!"
