Avanti has urged Brits not to travel north of Preston as all lines are blocked following a train derailment on Monday morning. Passengers have been escorted from a train after it derailed in Cumbria. Emergency services are working at the scene, but there are no reported injuries.
Avanti West Coast said its 4.28am service from Glasgow to Euston came off the tracks at 6.10am near the village of Shap, which is on the West Coast Main Line.
