World No.3 Coco Gauff competes under a different name to the one on her birth certificate. The American is currently participating in the Italian Open and beat Magda Linette on Sunday to make the last-16.
She now this afternoon. The 21-year-old hasn't just been focusing on tennis though, taking time to visit the famous Trevi Fountain in the Italian capital. In a video posted on Instagram, she posed in front of the landmark while explaining her various names.
"To the government 'Cori', to my closest friends 'Coco'," she said. "To my mom/dad 'Coco', to my boyfriend 'star', to my uncle 'Cantaloupe' to my coach Matt, 'Co'."
The star's reference about the government refers to the fact that she was christened Cori Dionne Gauff. At last year's US Open, she revealed that a family member gave her the nickname she now uses to enter tournaments.

"My aunt says she came up with calling me Coco," he explained. "But then my dad said when he was younger, people used to call him 'Co'. Then he was like, 'I'll call my daughter Coco'."
Gauff has been working with coach Matt Daly after splitting with Brad Gilbert last August. He assists her long-term mentor, Jean-Christophe, who oversaw her maiden Grand Slam win at the 2023 .
She's been tipped to challenge strongly at the this month, having impressed during the clay-court season. Gauff reached the final of her last tournament on the surface, the Madrid Open, before losing to world No.1 .
Her opponent today has heaped praise on the Florida-based player, saying: "She's a great fighter, a great opponent, but it's good that we can be in the same tournaments now and that I'm in the second week of these Masters."
