Diwali Turns Into Nightmare As Youth's Palm Blown Off While Bursting Firecrackers In Odisha's Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Diwali celebration turned into a nightmare for a Balasore youth on Monday.

One Babu Mohanty was critically injured while bursting firecrackers at Govindpur, under Soro police limits in Balasore.

According to locals, a firecracker exploded while Babu held it in his right hand and was about to light it, near his home this evening.

It was a strong explosion, and Babu’s palm was blown off.

Those nearby rushed him to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition.

A day earlier, a youth in Ganjam district died in an explosion while making firecrackers for Diwali.
