Google has recently launched a new feature 'Search Live' in its search engine, which works in AI mode. This feature shows users search results in real time and answers their queries immediately. Google's Search Live feature is a new voice-activated feature. This feature allows users to interact with Google Search. This feature is available through the company's mobile app. Currently, this feature is available only to Android and iOS users who have joined the AI Mode experiment in the US. To access Search Live, users have to tap on a new "Live" icon in the Google app and ask questions verbally.
The system responds with AI-generated audio answers and also shows related web links on the screen. The conversation remains active, allowing users to ask follow-up questions naturally, without restarting the search process. For example, users can ask about packing tips for travel and then ask specific questions about preventing wrinkles or organizing luggage without interruption.
Easier multitasking with background conversations
The feature works in the background, allowing users to continue conversations while using other apps. A transcript button allows users to see text versions of answers and switch between voice and typed interactions. This functionality is especially beneficial for users who are multitasking or on the go and require hands-free searching.
Search Live combines Google's established search infrastructure with advanced voice technology, allowing users to interact with the reliability of Google Search. The system uses Google's "query fan-out technology" to display a variety of web content, although there are concerns that this may reduce traffic to sources, as users can get full information without clicking through to a website.
