The much-anticipated live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has finally cast its Princess Zelda and Link, with fans eagerly awaiting the on-screen chemistry of the iconic duo.
Nintendo is joining forces with Sony Pictures and The Maze Runner director Wes Ball to transform one of the most beloved video game series into a cinematic experience.
With the film set to hit theatres in May 2027, Nintendo's legendary game director Shigeru Miyamoto took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the exciting news.

He posted: "This is Miyamoto. I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san.
"I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen", reports the Express.
Accompanying the announcement were images of Bragason and Ainsworth, likely dressed as their respective characters, set against a leafy scene.
But who exactly are Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, and where might audiences recognise them from?

This emerging talent made her first significant appearance in the BBC miniseries Three Girls, taking on the role of Rachel Winshaw.
Since then, she's secured leading parts in the series The Jetty and Renegade Nell, and featured in the films Censor and The Radleys.
Interestingly, while her first speaking role came in 2017, Bragason's journey in acting began ten years earlier.
Bragason's first foray into the world of film was as a toddler in the French-language movie Hidden Love, featuring Isabelle Huppert and Mélanie Laurent.
Her involvement in the film may have been influenced by her childhood years spent in Luxembourg and the south of France.
Moreover, The Legend of Zelda isn't Bragason's maiden voyage into the realm of major video game franchises. She previously lent her motion capture skills to the character Young Luna in the animated film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.

Ainsworth has been gracing our screens since 2018, when he secured a minor role in ITV's beloved soap Emmerdale.
Most viewers will likely recognise him as Miles Wingrave from Netflix's wildly successful horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor.
His film credits include roles in Flora & Ulysses, All Fun and Games and Everything's Going to Be Great. He also voiced Pinocchio in Disney's live-action adaptation of the timeless animation.
On the telly, this rising star has landed leading roles in the Canadian comedy Son of a Critch, appeared as Alex Burgess in an episode of The Sandman, and voiced Willy in Maya the Bee.
The Legend of Zelda will be released in cinemas on 7th May, 2027.
