Digital documents also have legal validity

The Supreme Court and the Central Government have clarified that the legal validity of the documents saved in DigiLocker and mParivahan apps is equal to that of physical documents. That is, you can show the DL or RC shown in these apps to the traffic police without any fear.
What is special about DigiLocker app?
DigiLocker has been developed by Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY). This app is linked to Aadhar card and in it you can save many documents like driving license, Aadhar card, PAN card, car insurance, mark sheet etc. in digital form. This not only eliminates the hassle of documents, but they always remain in your pocket along with the smartphone.
Why is the mParivahan app necessary?
The mParivahan app has been launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. In this app, you can see not only the driving license but also information like vehicle registration number, insurance status, fitness certificate. If you have registered your DL number in it, then the app shows its virtual version, which you can show to the traffic police.
