SBI PO Main Exam date announced, admit card will be issued soon, read details

Big news has come for the candidates waiting for the Probationary Officer (PO) exam, one of the biggest recruitment examinations of State Bank of India (SBI). The bank has officially announced that SBI PO Mains Exam 2025 will be conducted on 13 September 2025 in the morning shift.

SBI's Central Recruitment and Promotion Department has informed that the admit card and necessary guidelines for the main examination will be released soon on the official website sbi.co.in. Candidates have been advised to keep checking the website regularly so that they do not miss any important updates.

 

Those who pass the prelims will get a chance

 

This exam is only for those candidates who have cleared the recently declared SBI PO Prelims Result 2025. The prelims result was declared on September 1, while the exam was held across the country on August 2, 4, and 5. A total of 541 posts (500 regular and 41 backlog) will be filled through this recruitment drive.

 

The selection process is in three stages

 

The selection process of SBI PO recruitment is divided into three major stages. The first stage is the prelims exam, the second stage is the main exam, and the third and final stage is the psychometric test, group exercise, and interview.

 

In the final stage, the candidates will have to undergo a psychometric test for personality profiling. This will be followed by a group exercise, which will be of 20 marks, and interview, which will be of 30 marks. Finally, the merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of all the stages. In this list, the total marks of the main examination and the final stage will be added and normalized on a scale of 100 marks.

 

This will be the pattern of the main examination

 

SBI PO main examination will be divided into two parts. The first part will be objective test and the second part will be descriptive test.

 

The objective test will be of 200 marks and its duration will be three hours. It will include four sections. The first section will be Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, in which 40 questions will be asked and it will be of 60 marks. The second section will be Data Analysis and Interpretation, it will have 30 questions and a total of 60 marks will be given. The third section will be General, Economy and Banking Awareness, which will have 60 questions and 60 marks will be allotted. The fourth section will be English Language, which will have 40 questions but it will be of only 20 marks.

 

Apart from this, the descriptive test will be of 50 marks and 30 minutes will be given for it. In this, candidates will have to solve three questions related to email, report, situation analysis and pre-writing. The entire main exam will be of 250 marks. There is also a provision of negative marking in it. That is, 1/4 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
