Mumbai: A meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division was held recently at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Mumbai Central. The meeting was chaired by Pankaj Singh, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division, with the proceedings conducted by Abhay Singh Chauhan, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mumbai Central Division.
According to Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, the meeting witnessed active participation from DRUCC members representing various sectors such as trade, commerce, industry, agriculture, consumer rights, Divyangjan, passenger associations and nominees of Hon’ble Members of Parliament.
Among those present were Arvind Ramlakhan Yadav, Ramgopal Sharma, Nilesh Shyam Shah, Adv. Milind Balu Kapde, Mahendra Shivraj Kothari, Rajiv Singhal, Sanjaykumar C. Shah, Ashish H. Shah, Jagdish Jaysing Solanki, Ramnik Lalji Sangoi, Hasmukh Bhavanj Gala, Devis E.T. and Smt. Jayshree Umesh Ballikar. Their active involvement and constructive feedback contributed significantly to the deliberations.

During the meeting, members proposed several key suggestions aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and travel convenience. The discussions primarily focused on upgrading basic infrastructure at suburban stations, introducing improved facilities for Divyangjan & senior citizens such as ramps, lifts & escalators and streamlining the management of waitlisted tickets.
A noteworthy suggestion regarding the provision of escalators at suburban stations received special appreciation from the Divisional Administration for its structured, practical and visionary approach.
Furthermore, information was shared about a social organisation working to support elderly individuals found abandoned within railway premises, reflecting a compassionate and socially responsible perspective.

The Divisional Railway Administration reaffirmed its commitment to upgrading facilities and priority based implementation of suitable suggestions.
