A shocking video surfaced on the Internet of four teenagers from 12 to 16-year-old subway surfing on a Bronx bound train in New York. The video has quickly grabbed attention on the Internet and has sparked safety concerns of the locals. The teenagers were arrested soon after being spotted by the NYPD drones. According to the police reports, this marked the 200th arrest of subway surfers in New York after the drones system came into existence since November 2023.
The four teenagers in which two 12-year-old, one 15-year-old and one is 16-year-old were captured climbing on the top of a running train by NYPD drones on Thursday, July 10 near the Westchester Avenue Bridge.

Concerns Over Parental Control And Safety
The video is also raising parental controls as the accussed are all minors. Joseph Gulotta, NYPD, Chief of Transit, said, "A lot of times parents get surprised, not my kid, and when we show them the videos, they get stunned to find their kids."
According to the reports, the NYPD released the video to highlight the dangers of subway surfing among locals. Though no one was hurt in this incident but police expects that this video would serve as wake up call for youth and parents. "The message is simple. This affects life. This changes not only your life if you're injured but also your family," Joseph Gulotta added.
Similar Cases In Last Few Years
The NYPD deployed their drones team in November 2023. The police confirmed that this arrest marks the 200th total arrests in last 20 months. This shows the increased number of dangerous subway surfing trend in New York.
