Sendhwa (Madhya Pradesh): In yet another incident of theft on the sensitive Gava Ghat stretch of the Mumbai-Agra National Highway (NH-3), unidentified miscreants targeted three trucks early Thursday morning.
In all, 7 sacks of wheat were stolen from one truck carrying wheat from Rajasthan to Satara. In a separate case, thieves attempted to rob trucks carrying powder and lime, though they failed to steal any goods.
Frustrated by repeated thefts and poor police response, truck drivers blocked the highway at 5 am, leading to a 2-km-long traffic jam for nearly three hours. Ambulances and passenger vehicles were also stuck.

However, they also registered a case against the truck driver Raju Mali and helper Durgesh Goswami for obstructing traffic under National Highway and Motor Vehicle Acts.
The local police officials said that the area lacks proper lighting, which makes it easier for thieves to strike. Even after repeated requests to install high-mast lights, no action has been taken against it.
The theft and resulting chaos highlight urgent safety and infrastructure concerns on this busy national highway section.
