Mumbai: A massive fire broke out at a plywood godown near Rahnal in the Money Surat Complex, Bhiwandi, in Thane district, Maharashtra. The four-storey building caught fire, and the Bhiwandi Fire Brigade is making continuous efforts to control the flames.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. As the fire spreads rapidly, multiple fire tenders and officers are working tirelessly on-site. In the video, people can be seen throwing goods out of the factory to save them. Around 4 to 5 fire tenders from the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation are present at the scene.
As of now, no casualties or injuries have been reported, though several properties within the complex are feared to have sustained significant damage.
Multiple fire engines have been deployed to the scene, and firefighting operations are still underway. Locals gathered near the area, while police blocked the surroundings to ensure public safety.
The officials have urged residents to avoid the vicinity and cooperate with emergency teams. Further updates are expected soon.
