Mumbai: Mumbai Suburban guardian minister assured the residents living near Elphinstone Bridge that their concerns regarding the bridge will be addressed through discussions with the relevant officials and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Minister Cultural Affairs and Information Technology Ashish Shelar, who is also the Mumbai Suburban guardian minister, assured that the concerns of residents near the Elphinstone Bridge will be addressed through discussions with the relevant officials and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The 125-year-old Elphinstone Bridge was scheduled to be closed on the midnight of Saturday for demolition to make way for the Worli-Sewri elevated connector. However, the plan was put on hold after locals, including residents of two nearby buildings which will be demolished due to the project being undertaken by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
Concerned about these challenges, residents met Shelar at his Bandra office on Saturday. After listening to their grievances, the minister assured them that he would take up the matter with MMRDA officials as well as CM Fadnavis and will work toward a suitable resolution.
