Famous Bollywood director insulted Esha Gupta during shoot, she abused him right back and went home

Actress Esha Gupta has spoken out and revealed that she had a major falling out with filmmaker Sajid Khan while working on the film Humshakals. She shared that during the shoot, Khan hurled verbal abuse at her, which she immediately returned back to him before walking off the set and going home. The clash, she said, wasn't something minor or casual. It was a serious confrontation where tempers flared, words were exchanged, and respect was lost.

“He abused me, and I gave it right back,” she recalled during an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Esha made it clear that being spoken to disrespectfully was non-negotiable for her, regardless of who the person was. Once the incident occurred, the relationship between the two was never the same.

‘I Left the Set and Went Home’
Following the confrontation, Esha made the decision to step away from the project. She recalled walking out of the set and returning home immediately, unwilling to tolerate such treatment. At one point, she had even made up her mind to exit the film entirely. However, it was the producer who intervened and apologised on behalf of the team, even before Sajid did.

While the film was completed, the mood among the cast remained low. Esha revealed that by the time they watched the final cut, everyone seemed to sense the outcome would be disappointing. Though she didn’t delve into every detail of the incident, she attributed the clash partly to certain people speaking without thinking due to stress or frustration.

Clarifies #MeToo Association
In light of renewed allegations of misconduct against Sajid Khan, Esha made it clear that she was not a victim of sexual harassment. While she called out the abuse she faced on set, she clarified that Sajid had never behaved inappropriately with her beyond that verbal incident. She also addressed a past error in media coverage where her name was mistakenly linked to his dating history, which she ensured was corrected.

Esha’s comments come at a time when Sajid Khan has once again come under public scrutiny. Just two months ago, television actor Navina Bole alleged that the director had behaved inappropriately with her during a meeting at his home. She claimed he had asked her to strip down to lingerie under the pretext of assessing her comfort for a role.

Sajid Khan was previously accused by multiple women during the #MeToo movement in 2018, including Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Mandana Karimi, and others. While Esha was not among the women who made those claims, her recent statements have once again brought his name back into the spotlight.

Despite the past controversy, Esha Gupta continues to stay active in the entertainment industry. She was recently seen in Aashram Season 3 as Sonia and has upcoming projects such as Desi Magic and File No. 323. She also collaborated with Honey Singh on a music video.
