PM Kisan 21st Installment: Government Likely to Announce Release Date Soon, Farmers Await Good News
Farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the next installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. With the Bihar Assembly elections now over and results expected on November 14, all eyes are on today’s Union Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025, where the government might make an important announcement about the 21st installment of the PM Kisan scheme.
When Will the 21st Installment Be Released? The previous 20th installment under the PM Kisan scheme was disbursed on August 2, 2025, when the central government transferred ₹20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the country. Based on this timeline, expectations are high that the next payment may be released by the second week of November 2025. However, no official date has been confirmed yet.
Reports suggest that the matter could be discussed in the Cabinet meeting today, and a decision regarding the upcoming installment may follow soon. If approved, millions of registered farmers could receive their next ₹2,000 payment within weeks.
Understanding the PM Kisan SchemeThe PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched by the Government of India, aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this initiative, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, divided into three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The payment is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and quick delivery.
21st Installment Already Released in Some StatesInterestingly, a few states have already received the latest payment under the scheme. These include Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, where the disbursement was made earlier due to the devastating floods that affected large sections of the farming community. In Jammu and Kashmir, payments were credited to farmers’ accounts on October 7, 2025.
Who Will Be Eligible for This Payment?Only farmers who have completed their e-KYC and registration process will be eligible to receive the 21st installment. Additionally, it is mandatory for their Aadhaar card to be linked with their bank account. If all verification steps are complete and documents are valid, the amount will be automatically credited to their account once the installment is released.
How to Check Your Payment StatusFarmers can easily check the status of their payment through the official PM Kisan website (pmkisan.gov.in). By clicking on the “Know Your Status (KYS)” option, they can enter their registered mobile number or registration ID to get real-time updates on their payment.
Alternatively, farmers can also use the PM Kisan Mobile App or the Kisan eMitra chatbot for the same purpose.
Given the political and economic timing, experts believe that the central government may soon roll out the 21st installment to maintain the pace of the scheme and support farmers ahead of the rabi crop season. If the Cabinet approves the proposal today, payments could begin as early as mid-November.
The PM Kisan Yojana has become one of the most impactful welfare programs for rural India, offering steady financial aid to millions of farming families. With the next installment on the horizon, farmers are hopeful that the government’s decision today will bring a welcome Diwali gift in the form of direct financial relief.
