US Share Market Investment: Indian investors can now easily invest in US stocks. Under RBI regulations, funds can be remitted in dollars and traded in the US market.
Over the past few years, Indian investors have increasingly turned to US stocks. People want to invest directly in companies like Apple, Google, Tesla, and Amazon, earning dollar returns and strengthening their portfolios.
To buy US stocks, it's necessary to first open an international trading account. This can be done through several Indian brokerage platforms like Zerodha, Groww, or HDFC Securities. Some apps are directly linked to US brokers.
Indian investors can remit up to US$250,000 annually under the RBI's Liberalized Remittance Scheme. Within this limit, you can invest in US stocks. This process is completely legal and regulated.
Once you have a trading account, you need to transfer funds in dollars from your bank. Some brokers automatically convert rupees into dollars. Once the funds are deposited, you can directly purchase shares in the US stock market.
Investments in US stocks are taxed. The US government levies a 25% tax on dividends. Capital gains tax on shares sold must be calculated in India. Brokerage and currency conversion charges also apply.
In the US stock market, you can also buy fractional shares of a stock. If an Amazon share is worth $3,000, you can buy a $100 share. This makes investing easy and cost-effective.
Before investing in the US market, it's important to monitor companies' financial reports, market trends, and dollar movements. This investment is considered a good long-term investment. Investments made with proper research can yield significant profits.
