How will the selection happen?
If you have filled out the CSBC Bihar Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder, or Mobile Squad Constable form, it's important to understand the selection process. This process is simple but strict. First, there will be a written exam, followed by a physical test, followed by a document check and medical. The merit list for a total of 4128 posts will be prepared on this basis.
1. Written Examination (OMR-Based)
This is the first and most comprehensive round. All applicants will have to take it. This examination will consist of objective-type questions (MCQs) from topics such as Hindi, English, Math, Science, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Basic Computer Science, and Bihar GK. The paper will carry a total of 100 marks, with each question carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking. The exam will be conducted for two hours. The qualifying marks are 30% for General/OBC and 25% for SC/ST. Those who pass this examination will receive a call letter for the physical test. This is a screening round, meaning only good marks will allow you to advance. Please check the syllabus in the notification.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST):
Those who pass the written exam will have to take this test. It checks their physical fitness. Regarding height, male General/OBC candidates must be 165 cm, SC/ST candidates 160 cm. Female candidates must be 155 cm, SC/ST candidates 150 cm. Male General/OBC candidates must have a chest measurement of 79-81 cm, SC/ST candidates 78-80 cm. Female candidates must have a minimum weight of 48 kg. Candidates who fail this test will be disqualified.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
This is a running/fitness test for those who pass the Physical Standard Test (PST). This is a qualifying test, but marks are not awarded. General/OBC male candidates must run 1.6 km in 6 minutes. Similarly, female candidates must complete a 1 km run in 5 minutes. Reserved categories may receive some relaxation, but please check.
4. Document Verification (DV)
Those who clear the PET/PST will be called for document verification. Original documents will be checked here. This will require a 12th-grade marksheet, caste certificate, age proof (birth certificate), ID proof, and a photo.
5. Medical Examination (Medical Examination)
Those who pass the DV will undergo a medical checkup. This will include their eyes, ears, teeth, and physical fitness. Vision without glasses must be 6/6. Some relaxation is available for SC/ST candidates.
Final Merit List
Only the written exam marks will be counted for the total score. Physical, DV, and medical are qualifying. Category-wise merit will be determined, and postings will be based on vacancies.
