The 26-year-old will return to Naples in just a few weeks and this time, a permanent exit appears likely.
Links to Stamford Bridge went cold during the current campaign but have picked up in recent weeks especially as Chelsea are likely to be without a striker on the first day of next season as Nicolas Jackson is suspended.
