Arsenal could help Chelsea fund a sensational bid for Morgan Rogers this summer. The Aston Villa star has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past, but he always seemed to be just another name on a long list of targets.
Rogers, whose contract at Villa Park expires in June 2030, featured 37 times in the Premier League last season, scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists. Playing a key role in Unai Emery's side, he helped the Villans finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League.
The England international's impressive performances didn't go unnoticed as he established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the country. According to the MailOnline last month, Chelsea were interested in Rogers.

The report claimed that the Blues' interest was unrelated to their pursuit of Jamie Gittens, who was eventually signed from Borussia Dortmund. Chelsea appear to have since taken a step back in the race for the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, but the sale of Noni Madueke could breathe new life into a potential move.
football.london understands that Arsenal have also recently agreed to sign the Blues ace for £52m, including add-ons. If the Gunners manage to finalise a deal for Madueke, they'll be depositing an eye-watering sum into Enzo Maresca's war chest.
The proceeds from Madueke's sale could be used fund a sensational bid for Rogers, who would quickly prove to be a significant upgrade. The Aston Villa star would be the perfect fit for Chelsea, on and off the pitch.
Rogers would flourish on the left-hand side in one of Maresca's new number 10 roles, while providing great cover for Palmer in a more central role. The youngster would also join a growing contingent of former Manchester City academy teammates, following the likes of Liam Delap and Romeo Lavia.

Palmer could prove integral in any potential bid for Rogers. The duo are close friends, and they famously share the same 'cold' goal celebration.
Many thought that Rogers had copied Palmer when he scored in a 2-2 draw between Aston Villa and Chelsea in April 2024. Speaking to reporters at Villa Park after the game, he joked: "Yeah, he [Palmer] definitely copied me.
"It's my celebration. Check the timeline. I did it first. He's one of my closest friends, not just in football but in life generally. So, to see him doing so well, couldn't be more proud of him, really.

"I think he's now showing everyone what I and a lot of people knew he could do two or three years ago, so it's a pleasure to, and now everyone can see it."
Then, in an interview with TNT Sports following Aston Villa's win over Bayern Munich in October, Rogers added: "I'll let him [Palmer] have it [the 'cold' celebration]. He's scored 40 goals or something stupid. Can't really argue with that, can I?"
