Chelsea can fund dream Morgan Rogers transfer with £120m windfall as Enzo Maresca axes seven

Chelsea could make well over £100m in player sales this summer. So while Enzo Maresca focuses on preparing his young and exciting squad for the new season, higher-ups at Stamford Bridge will be working hard to offload those who are surplus to requirements.

By cashing in on some of the unwanted talent, the Blues can remain comfortably compliant with the Premier League's spending regulations. At the start of the year, Chelsea were found to have not breached Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) following a review of the latest results.

Under PSR, clubs in the English top-flight are not permitted to record more than £105million in losses over a three-year period; a figure that's reduced by £22million for every season the team isn't in the Premier League.

Chelsea were declared compliant, avoiding punishment of any sort, such as a points deduction or fine. In fact, according to The Athletic, no English club is expected to be better positioned than the west Londoners - with regards to PSR this month.

This puts the Blues in a great spot if they want to wrap up dream signings like Mike Maignan, Morgan Rogers and Jamie Gittens. So, with the help of Transfermarkt, football.london has calculated how much Chelsea could rake in from player sales this summer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga - £5m

According to Sky Sports, Kepa has a £5m release clause in his contract at Stamford Bridge. The 30-year-old goalkeeper signed a new deal last summer, which allowed him to join Bournemouth on loan last season.

Chelsea inserted release clause into that one-year extension, making him an attractive option for Arsenal. The report claims the Gunners are progressing with a deal to sign the forgotten Blues stopper.

Renato Veiga – £21.4m

Veiga enjoyed a promising start to life at Chelsea this season, showcasing his versatility at left-back and centre-half. Then, in January, the 21-year-old defender suddenly wanted to leave on loan - so he spent the remainder of the season at Juventus.

Upon his return from Turin this month, Veiga was omitted from the Blues squad which travelled to the United States for the Club World Cup. Now, he faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge and, if he is sold, Chelsea stand to almost certainly make a handsome profit on the £12m they paid Basel in 2024.

Axel Disasi – £18.8m

Like Veiga, Disasi left Chelsea on loan midway through the season. The 27-year-old defender joined Aston Villa - and he made just 10 appearances for Unai Emery's side.

Ben Chilwell – £12.8m

Chiwell also left Chelsea on loan in January, joining Crystal Palace. The 28-year-old defender hardly impressed at Selhurst Park, but he managed to grab himself an FA Cup winners' medal.

Carney Chukwuemeka – £15.4m

Chukwuemeka was once widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Chelsea's squad before he suffered a knee injury in 2023. But now, the 21-year-old midfielder faces an uncertain future - with the likes Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo well above him in the pecking order.

João Felix – £17.1m

Like many of the players on this list, Felix left Chelsea on loan in January. The 25-year-old forward made a great impression on his debut for AC Milan, but he struggled to impress for the remainder of the campaign with them, while the Serie Ai giants missed out on Europe.

Christopher Nkunku – £30m

Neither a striker, nor a playmaker, Nkunku struggled to force himself into Maresca's side this season. When called upon off the bench in closely-contested ties, the 27-year-old forward never did enough to prove why he deserves crucial game time over Tyrique George.
