Chelsea are considering making a move for Brighton forward Joao Pedro this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The Brazilian scored 10 goals and provided six assists across 27 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls over the course of the 2024/25 campaign and is attracting interest from numerous sides in the division. football.london understands the Blues hold an interest in the 23-year-old forward this summer, but he is one of numerous targets at Stamford Bridge.
Brighton, though, are said to be demanding at least £60million for Pedro, who has three years remaining on his contract at the Amex Stadium. And if Chelsea were ever looking for the ultimate seal of approval over making a move, then look no further than Alan Shearer.

The Premier League's all-time top goal scorer is a big fan of Pedro and has spoken about it in depth on BBC's Match of the Day coverage in recent times. "This for me is a brilliant centre-forward goal," Shearer said when talking about Pedro's goal in Brighton's win against Bournemouth in November. "The way he follows it up and he is expecting the rebound to get there.
"He reacts before anyone else does and then he gets his reward. His hold-up play was superb at times when he had to keep hold of the ball and bring his teammates into play."
Despite not being the most physical player in the world, Pedro's hold-up play is one of his strengths. Also, his ability to play virtually everywhere across the front line is something that is attracting Chelsea. The Blues are looking to sign a versatile forward this summer, with Pedro one of numerous targets.
Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons are two other alternatives that are being looked at, football.london understands. However, nothing is advanced with any of these targets at the time of writing as Chelsea continue to consider their options in attack.
The Blues have a concrete interest in Hugo Ekitike, though are concerned by Eintracht Frankfurt demanding £85million for the Frenchman's services. Chelsea have been locked in talks with the German club in recent weeks as the west Londoners look to get the asking price down.
